What is the slope-intercept form of the equation of a line that passes through (1,-6) with a slope of 5?

Answer:

y - y1 = m(x - x1)

y + 6 = 5 (x - 1)

y + 6 = 5x - 5

y = 5x - 5 - 6

y = 5x -11

y = mx + b
