Find the solution to this system.

Please answer and explain this, i can't seem to get these questions and im really struggling! Thanks!

y=2x+8

3x+2y=-5

3x + 2(2x+8) = -5

3x +4x +16 = -5

7x = -21

x = -3

y = 2(-3) + 8

y=2
